Exciting Updates on the Merchant Token Project:

Progress, Innovation, and Adoption.

At Merchant Token, we are committed to building, not hyping. Our focus has always been on developing innovative solutions rather than chasing trends. We believe in following a robust development process to deliver real-world value, and we are thrilled to share the latest updates in our journey towards adoption.

Since its inception, our focus has been firmly set on building groundbreaking technology. While this journey has been both exciting and challenging, Since its inception, our focus has been firmly set on building groundbreaking technology. While this journey has been both exciting and challenging, we are now expanding our efforts to include development and adoption—a pivotal step in our evolution. This doesn’t mean development is slowing down; on the contrary, we will continue enhancing and expanding our products while simultaneously driving real-world adoption and integration.

We are now transitioning from a primary focus on development to adoption—a pivotal moment in our evolution. However, this does not mean we are finished developing. On the contrary, we will continue to enhance and expand our products while steadily shifting more focus toward driving adoption and integration in the real world.

In June, we received the first batch of HIPS Crypto Terminals from our Chinese manufacturing partner. However, due to production and logistical constraints, the shipment was delayed. Despite contracting an external quality control organisation, several issues were identified after the terminals arrived at our warehouse in the Netherlands.
The initial batch had minor production and packaging faults that could have been resolved. However, the primary issue was that an earlier software version had been loaded into the terminals’ non-updatable ROM. This required merchants to perform complex manual technical steps involving deep Android settings and permissions to use the terminals—rendering the product unsuitable for the general market.
In August, a new batch was ordered to address these challenges, incorporating fixes for the identified issues. We partnered with a new quality control organisation to ensure higher standards. Production of the updated terminals began in October, and the shipment is now en route from China to the Netherlands. We expect the new batch to arrive by mid-January and look forward to making these improved terminals available to our partners and merchants.

This experience underscores our commitment to delivering only the highest-quality products that meet our customers' expectations and the market's demands. Thank you for your patience and continued support as we bring the future of decentralised crypto payments to life.

Shipping the MCP1 terminals and launching our Dashboard and tools will mark the beginning of the FRIGG stage of development. This stage will provide merchants with robust solutions to seamlessly manage their crypto payments.

Expanding our efforts towards Adoption

As we prioritise adoption, we are also making key updates to our ecosystem. One major shift involves replacing the current CDM (Consumer Dispute Management) system with the next-generation AIDM (Artificial Intelligence Dispute Management).
The AIDM will introduce AI agents for dispute resolution and integrate a token-burning mechanism, officially transforming MTO into a deflationary token.

Future updates to the AIDM will include MTO staking and support for additional blockchains, further expanding its functionality.

The launch of the AIDM will mark the beginning of the THOR stage of development, representing a new era of innovation and ecosystem growth.

Introducing the Merchant Card

Looking ahead, we are excited to reveal the concept of our Merchant Card, a fully decentralised, crypto-only payment card that doubles as a hardware wallet.

Although this product is still in its early development stages, we are confident that it will enhance the crypto payment experience by making it more seamless and user-friendly.

The release of the Merchant Card will also mark the start of the ODIN stage of development, a significant chapter in the growth of our ecosystem.

Strategic Focus for Ecosystem Growth

We are also excited to share that our blockchain has been successfully developed. However, we have made the strategic decision to delay its integration into the ecosystem. By prioritising the adoption and enhancement of existing products like the MCP1 terminal and AIDM, we ensure a solid foundation for the blockchain’s future launch. More updates regarding its integration will be shared as the ecosystem continues to evolve.

Expanding Our Communication and Engagement

We will release new content on our social media platforms to reach new audiences and foster a greater understanding of Merchant Token. This content will focus on educating the community about Merchant Token, the ecosystem, and its various components.

In addition, we are committed to becoming more transparent about the project’s development and progress. While we aim to share updates openly, we recognise the importance of avoiding specific timelines for certain aspects to ensure accurate expectations. This approach reflects our dedication to keeping the community informed while maintaining a realistic perspective on our roadmap.

Building for the Future

This is an exciting time for the Merchant Token Project as we move closer to real-world integration. The upcoming rollout of the MCP1 terminal, the launch of AIDM, and the development of the Merchant Card are all vital steps toward achieving the mass adoption of crypto payments.
We thank our community for their continued support and patience as we work to deliver on our vision. Stay tuned for more updates as we take the Merchant Token Project to the next level!
